He was great, wasn’t he? He came into your life out of nowhere and made you feel special. He understood you. He cared about what you liked, what you felt, and what you did. He showed you that you mattered.
But things have changed. He moved on, lives far away now, and you miss him. You miss the fun times. You wonder if you’ll ever have anything like that again. Yes, you can.
There are other people in the world who need you and who would value your love and friendship. Maybe it won’t be the same kind of friendship, but there’s a lot of joy to be found in going out of your way to be a friend to someone new. You’ll still miss your best friend, but you’ll be less lonely.
One day I’ll bring someone very special into your life, someone who will reassure you, in a whole new way, of how much I love you. In the meantime, every friendship can be a sign of My love for you.
You can fill a big need in someone’s life, and improve your own life while you’re at it, just by reaching out with a hand of love and friendship.

My Love only sees the good in you

When I gaze upon you, I see not the blemishes. I see not the faults and the failings, for I love you. As one who is in love overlooks the things that others may find fault with, because of his love, so it is with Me.
I am even as a blind man who sees no faults or failings, who sees with the hands, and touches and feels the softness, and smells the cleanness and the perfume, and hears the words of love, and knows just from this that his wife is beautiful and lovely, having never even seen her. Though she may even see herself as homely, he sees not this way. For he feels the love and he touches with his hands, and he feels the softness and the beauty. So it is with Me when I gaze upon you. For as one who overlooks the faults and loves in spite of them, so am I. As one who overlooks the blemishes and loves anyway, so am I.

Prayer’s healing power

The human body is vulnerable to sickness and disease. That’s part of the human condition. There are some things you can do—some precautions you can take to help maintain good health, and some remedies you can use to facilitate the natural healing process—but none of these are cure-alls, none of them get permanent results, and sometimes they simply aren’t enough. Sometimes you need something more—spiritual help. That help is Mine to freely give, and I make it available to you through prayer. Your prayers for healing set in motion My spiritual power, which can then go to work on fixing your physical body.
You can’t see electricity, but you know it exists because you can see its effects. And because others have learned how to harness electricity’s power, you can put it to work for you. You flip the switch and the light comes on or the appliance does what it was made to do, and your life is better for it. Well, prayer is just as real, but far more wonderful. It’s the means for bringing heavenly spiritual power to your earthly plane—power that can do all sorts of marvelous things, including heal your body when needed.
But just as all the electricity in the world won’t do you a bit of good unless you tap into it, all that heavenly power to heal won’t do you a bit of good unless you avail yourself of it. Flip the switch, connect with Me, and My infinite resources are at your command.

No reason to hide

You are ashamed of some of the things you hold inside, but I see them all and I love you anyway. I see the beauty of your heart. I see what you can become, and I see what you are already becoming through your love for Me. Don’t think that you are unworthy in My sight. Don’t hide in shame, for I see it all and love you just the same.

Embrace change

Are you set in your ways, or do you embrace new ideas? Do you welcome suggestions from others? Are you open to learning and trying new things? Are you willing to change things if someone else finds a better way?
It’s often easier to keep doing things the old way than it is to change, or at least it can seem so at first. Change takes time and effort, but good changes are worth it in the long run. You shouldn’t resist change, but you shouldn’t go to the other extreme either of changing things just for the sake of change.
Some things never change—My love for you and My basic commandments and promises in the Bible—but in other areas I delight in change. Situations change. People change. You change! I don’t like things to stagnate. I like innovation and progress, and I want you to as well. Be flexible. Flow with the new and move with Me, and you’ll be much easier for Me and others to work with.

The marriage triangle

Marriage is the joining of hearts, that two may become one. It’s a wonderful thing with wonderful rewards for those who are willing to make the necessary sacrifices—and there are some sacrifices involved. To become one, each partner must be willing to give and change. The man must give of himself to become all that his wife needs him to be, and the woman must give of herself to become everything that her husband needs her to be. That’s the kind of self-sacrificial love that the strongest, happiest marriages are built on. Where do you get such love? Only from Me.
Picture your marriage as a triangle, with the two of you at the bottom two corners and Me at the top. As you both climb the sides of the triangle to come closer to Me, the source of love, you are also drawn closer together. The way to greater love and greater closeness with each other is to climb closer to Me.

If you feel you’re imposing on loved ones and friends by asking for their help when you’re sick, you need to try to see the situation as I do. Yes, it’s usually a sacrifice and means extra work for them, but the potential blessings far outweigh the burdens.
When others come to your aid, it brings out the best in them. It gives them a chance to be self-sacrificial, tender, compassionate, patient, and cheerful, and that puts them in line to receive the spiritual blessings that follow as surely as day follows night.
This is all part of My wonderful plan, the plan of upgrading all of your spirits by giving you special opportunities to give and receive love. Both bring you closer to Me, because I am love. Whenever there is a love exchange, My presence becomes more palpable, and that puts everything else into perspective.
And just as the extra time you spend praying, communing with Me, and tanking up on My Word strengthens your faith and deepens your connection with Me, the time they spend praying and claiming My promises for you will strengthen their faith and relationship with Me. It also strengthens the bond of love between you.

A strong marriage

If your marriage is going to be strong, it must be strong in the spirit. If it's going to be strong in the spirit, then I must be the center. Your focus, your unity, your love, all must be centered around Me. Then you'll have what you need to make it over the human weaknesses and mistakes and misunderstandings. But when you go for a long period of time without having good prayer and communication, without humbling yourselves and uniting around My Word, it's very easy to become set in your ways, proud, unyielding and intolerant. You lose the compassion. You lose the tenderness. You lose the sweetness.
As gold in the furnace

You may not understand some things today because it is not My time to fully reveal to you My complete plan and purpose. Believe and trust, even though you do not understand. My ways are not your ways, and you can never know the mind of God by trying to understand and analyze with your own mind. I will reveal My thoughts and My ways by the power of My Spirit to those who will receive My voice with faith, love and appreciation.
I promise that if you will hold on by faith—not even knowing if you have the strength to hold on—you will not fail. Just as gold is purified in the refiner's furnace, those who pass through the hot flames of testing are those who come out as finer gold. I test you that all the dross and impurities may be melted away. So do not fear the testing, for I purify you out of love, and I cleanse you in answer to your prayers.

If you will take time with Me in prayer, and listen to My voice in your heart and through My Word, I will show you My great, great love for you—love which is greater than the ocean, which stretches further than the horizon, which the whole universe with all its stars and galaxies cannot contain, which reaches out of understanding into infinity and eternity.

There is the unconditional love that a mother feels for her children, and the love and respect that children feel for their parents.
There is the kinship love that brothers and sisters feel for each other, or the friendship love that you feel for your best friend.
There is the love and appreciation that a student or athlete feels for his teacher or coach who helps him to become a better person or player.
There is a love that a man feels for a woman, which makes him want to marry her and live with her day in and day out and protect and provide for her. And there is the love that a woman has for a man, which makes her want to bear his children and love and care for their family.
My love for you is all this and more. My love for you is complete, for I am love. I give each person a measure of My love, but My love is immeasurable and limitless. I love you with a perfect and everlasting love that will never be taken away.
Let Me Touch You

When I walked the earth many, many years ago, I went about doing good to all who crossed My path. I healed the sick, comforted the brokenhearted, lifted the spirits of those who were discouraged, and strengthened those who felt weak. And My love and power are the same today! I still long to touch and heal the bodies of those who suffer, and I still long to encourage the hearts of those who stoop under heavy burdens or go through difficult times. Since returning to Heaven I have touched many who lifted their hearts to Me and told Me their needs, and I want to do the same for you.
All it takes on your part is faith. You simply have to believe that I, the Great Physician, can still touch and make you whole. I am just a prayer away. Tell Me about your troubles, your fears, your worries, and ask Me to help and heal you. Sometimes healing the body takes a while—I know the best time—but the healing of your heart, the gifts of peace in place of turmoil and faith in place of fear, I can give in an instant. It is something that you can't understand with your mind, but when you ask in faith and it happens, you will know that I have touched you.
All it takes on your part is faith. You simply have to believe that I, the Great Physician, can still touch and make you whole. I am just a prayer away. How would you feel if you never received a love letter from the one who was dearest to you, not even a quick note? Or how would you feel if you went about your entire day and your spouse hardly said one word to you?
When I don't receive any word from you, it breaks My heart. It makes Me wonder if you really care and if you need Me. Communicate and do not forget Me, for with such sacrifices I am well pleased. Prayer is communication.

When others fail you or make seeming mistakes, instead of blowing up in anger and frustration, say, "I pray for these and I love these. I want to help them and make it easy for them." Think thoughts of love toward those who frustrate you. Pray for them.
As you think these thoughts of love and pray these prayers of love, so will the love in your heart be able to permeate your spirit and overcome the pride and selfishness.
